As part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR), the Ikorodu Town Hall Management Board has released the sum of 1 Million naira as payment for JAMB forms for indigent students across the 28 secondary schools in Ikorodu Division.

Another N400, 000 has also been provided as an additional sum for the purpose by the Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG).

Both bodies are donating the sum for the purchase of the JAMB forms which will be distributed to 10 students in each of the 28 secondary schools through the Scholarship and Training Committee, a sub – committee under the IDRDG.

The Scholarship and Training Committee, chaired by Prof. M.O. Ajetunmobi, is saddled with the responsibility of actualization of the exercise.

Prof. Ajetunmobi, addressing selected media men on Saturday, said that the bodies are providing the JAMB forms for indigent students because educational development is the main policy of the new IDRDG Chairman, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe who also doubled as the Chairman of the Ikorodu Town Hall Management Board (ITHMB).

“We are embarking on the distribution of the JAMB forms since education is the priority of the new IDRDG Chairman”, he said.

“We are going to give the forms to 10 students in each of the 28 secondary schools across the Ikorodu Division.

“Beneficiaries must be Ikorodu indigenes. The scheme was designed to support indigent students, especially those that cannot afford the JAMB form”.

Meanwhile, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, speaking, said that the idea is to create Resource Group Scholars by not only providing the JAMB forms but also monitoring their education through the University.

“Our intention is not just to give them the JAMB forms but also monitor beneficiaries’ educational developments and make them Resource Group’s Scholars”, he said.

“As a community, we must be able to decide how many lawyers, engineers, doctors that we are going to produce in the next ten years.

“Our duty is to assist these students, especially those without means”, Senator Ogunlewe added.
