BASHORUN BABATUNDE TAJUDEEN ROTINWA

Bashorun Babatunde Rotinwa was born on June 29, 1945 at Ikorodu, Lagos State. He had his primary education at Muslim Primary School, Ikorodu from 1952-1959 and his secondary education at Oriwu College also in Ikorodu from 1960-1965 where they were called “Independent Boys”. After his secondary education, he gained admission to Chicago State
University, Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. in 1971 and he graduated with a B.Sc in Biology in June 1974 and also had a M.Sc in Natural Science in December, 1975.

He had his first post-qualification work experience at his alma mater, the Chicago State University as a Research Library Assistant. On his return to Nigeria in 1976, he has worked with several organisations as an Inspector, Head of Science Department, Assistant Secretary etc. After his retirement; he was appointed and Sworn-in as the Chairman of the Local Government Service
Commission by His Excellency, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on Monday, November 2nd, 2015.

He is a member of the Prestigious Island Club of Lagos, Eko Club, Committee of Friends and the 1960 set of Oriwu College Old Students Association, Oriwu Club Ikorodu, IDRDG Vice Chairman (2016-2017), IDRDG Chairman (2020-2021), Ikorodu Crystal Club and The Exclusive Club. He is happily married and blessed with children.
